Through contribution forms
When you submit a sighting or a gem through the website forms, the following data is collected:
- Nickname (optional, “Anonymous” by default)
- Email address
- Title and description of the contribution
- Location and business sector
- Google Maps link (optional)
- Photograph
Through cookies and trackers
The website uses the following cookies:
- Essential cookies: website operation, WordPress session, cookie consent (Cookie Notice)
- Security cookies: protection against attacks and spam (Wordfence, Akismet)
- Analytics cookies: audience measurement via Google Analytics (Google Site Kit), in compliance with GDPR
- Social sharing cookies: AddToAny sharing buttons (loaded only upon interaction)

- Publication of contributions on the interactive map and website pages
- Email notification of the publisher when new contributions are submitted
- Content moderation
- Website security and spam protection
- Anonymized statistical analysis of website traffic
Legal basis
Data processing is based on:
- User consent for non-essential cookies (Article 6.1.a of the GDPR)
- The publisher’s legitimate interest for website security and moderation (Article 6.1.f of the GDPR)
- The performance of an action requested by the user for publishing contributions (Article 6.1.b of the GDPR)
Data recipients
Collected data may be shared with the following processors:
- OVHcloud (hosting, France)
- Brevo (transactional email delivery, France)
- Google (audience analytics via Google Analytics, United States)
- Automattic / Akismet (anti-spam filtering, United States)
No data is sold to third parties.
Data retention
- Contribution data: retained as long as the contribution is published on the website
- Email addresses: retained for the time necessary for moderation, then deleted
- Security logs (Wordfence): 30 days
- Google Analytics data: 14 months
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Right to access your personal data
- Right to rectification of your data
- Right to erasure of your data
- Right to data portability
- Right to object to processing
- Right to withdraw consent at any time
